How to Prepare for your headshot or portrait session:

Good Headshots are about capturing your personality and this comes out best when you are relaxed and enjoying yourself. Photoshoots should be a fun and memorable experience. Try not to stress or worry too much before your shoot and make sure you are well rested. I understand that many people are not comfortable in front of the camera and may feel self conscious, but don’t worry. I’ll be here to guide you and help you to look your best. Below are a few frequently asked questions and things to keep in mind to help you be prepared for the day of your photoshoot.

What should I wear?

- Bring a few clean outfits/changes of clothes so we can get a couple different looks. Solid colours are best rather than patterns. Make sure it’s something that fits well and you feel comfortable in. Finally, if you have a specific profession like a Dentist, Doctor, or Real Estate Agent, you may want to bring what you would normally wear to work.

Where is your studio located?

Our spacious studio is located at 196 Jeanne Mance Street, in Vanier. We are a short distance to the Byward Market, Strathcona park and Beechwood ave.

Do you do photoshoots on location?

Yes. Photoshoots can be done either in studio or at a location around Ottawa of your choosing.

Do you provide hair and makeup services?

Hair and makeup is available upon request at an extra fee. However you are certainly welcome to do your own if you prefer. Just please make sure to keep it looking natural and not go too heavy on the makeup. Simple and natural looking is better when it comes to headshots.

Is it ok if I keep my beard for my headshot or portrait session?

Facial hair is fine, but please keep it neat and well groomed, or shave it off.

Extra tip:

For men and women: You may want to use some lip balm to avoid chapped and flaky lips. Don’t wait for the day of your photo shoot though to start using it.
